Michael Bath, from McLeans Ridges in New South Wales, Australia, estimates that in his lifetime he has taken more than 3,500 images of lightning bolts illuminating the sky.
The photographer said that he followed his first lightning storm in November 1988, and, on December 2, 1988, took his first images of the powerful bolts
Michaels photography, mainly shot in Australia, has also taken him to the United States, where he was able to capture spectacular storms in famous Tornado Alley, in May 2010, May 2012 and April 2013, having based himself in Kansas during his time there.
